We built our entire startup infra on #FreeBSD in 2026. Now we need to talk.

@toomanysecrets Very nice. When we built FreeGate (waaaay back when) we decided to use FreeBSD in our gateway rather than Linux for very similar reasons. It was improving over time but not changing its architecture.
@ChuckMcManis Hi Chuck, thank you for share your experience.

@toomanysecrets since you mentioned jails, ansible, and bastille, do you have an example that could be shared? I've been trying out some ansible/jails connectors that use vanilla jail.conf instead of bastille. The initial setup is just ssh into each jail. I am planning to switch to just logging in to each host and managing the jails from the host.

Foe my use case, scale isn't as important as a DR plan to provision a server, pull in ZFS snapshot backup data, and continue service.

@philvuchetich Hi Phillip. Just to clarify, I'm not the author of that Reddit post. I'd suggest replying directly to the original thread on Reddit so the author can answer you directly! Best of luck.
@toomanysecrets Sorry - I misinterpreted your post here starting with "We..." that you were connected with the Reddit post.
@toomanysecrets This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!!
