@geekysteven Covid is also here to stay, "thank" you, "medical freedom" jackasses.

so is a lot of other crappy stuff be we don't have to be happy about it.
@albnelson @geekysteven I think the modern AI's actually go beyond LLM and integrate that technique with others like ML or pattern recognition.
I think LLM will continue to be a useful technique in AI. We have to go through a phase where we apply it to everything before we figure out what it actually works on and what it doesn't.
If this was just a technical issue and not a nightmare riding on crazy we might have survived that process.
@albnelson @geekysteven When the bubble bursts they may actually be in a really good place because what they're working on actually has merit and they're in like Flinn.
Hard to say if they're actually working on something with merit though. Even so, good network to be in...financial stability wise. Chances are they are able to figure something out post burst.
@geekysteven Well....
You ain't got the same longevity there. Sorry. Is what it is. AI will likely outlive your bitching.

@geekysteven "In the future, people won't care if something was made by AI"
Sure. They won't hate it just because it was made with AI. They also won't like it just because it was made with AI.
@geekysteven this stuff reminds me of getting cloud computing rammed down our throats, I still think it's a net negative and babysitting aws still takes up an inordinate amount of my day.
This is and will be worse.
At this point AI is just a term for a huge con job. There are excellent learning algorithms out there that can produce amazing data crunches and sensory results when fed excellent data by skilled humans and even clue the humans in on how poor the data is. But thats not what the market is selling. They're selling cost cutting and dumping skilled humans in favor of running algorithms by convincing corporate management the algorithms can think like a human. They're selling an addictive party trick that can sympathise with and reward your worst impulses with almost as much parroting skill as a main street pimp.
When the bubble blows sky high maybe we can get back to using high powered data crunching for what it's good for.
We all know how susceptible these ceos and billionaires are. After all, they all claim to have been mislead by Pimp Epstein. 🤣
like herpes, the glitter of sexually transmitted diseases.
well more like HIV without access to antiretrovirals.
and we just not using IA is here to stay, too
