Fined $58M — peanuts compared to profits to be had. They should’ve had their licence to mine revoked, taken away for a period no shorter than the time it takes for the trees to grow the size they were when felled illegally.

Australian govts really don’t give a shit about the environment, the ecosystems these support (include ours) and the harm to the planet they are encouraging. We’ll all suffer as a result with very few, if any, way out of the mess they’ve allowed #ExtractiveIndustries to get away with.
