The amount of bugs in #Apple’s #Tahoe OS are now well-known, but I find their abundance shocking and disheartening.

The design of their processes for the user have also become cluttered, by adding unnecessary extra steps. To wit: when I click “edit” on a phone contact, I now get a little pop-up that says “edit this contact“ and I have to press that in order to actually make the edit. Why are there two steps to pressing edit? No other options are offered in the second step, so what’s the point?

@breitensteinart things like this is why I left #Microsoft as well. One if my biggest gripes was that an action that used to be a simple right click, was now hidden behind a multi key and click sub menu... Why make it harder to use my computer?

@geoff_eg 100%. Apple is no longer taking a horse and buggy towards Microsoft, they’ve hopped on the bullet train. Some new design decisions remind me of what computers were like in the 1980s.

They’ve also introduced premium levels in some of their included apps, like Pages and Numbers. The future is clear, they’re going to monetize every piece they can.

I really never quite believed Apple would jump on the enshittification bandwagon. I’m wiping my old laptop and reinstalling Sequoia.

@geoff_eg What do you use now?
@breitensteinart this is the Fediverse Marlene… the only question is WHICH Linux distribution @geoff_eg is using 🤣
@alexskunz @breitensteinart LOOOL... You're not wrong ;P
