Heading to #Italy soon, does anyone have “first time” advice when going to #Rome, #Venice, or #Sorrento? Especially curious how to NOT be an annoying tourist. #travel #Europe #tourism #askfedi
@codedbydan Don’t sweat it. I’m sure you’re not the loud, obnoxious type. Don’t bother using IG to find good places to eat, the place next door without the line is almost certainly as good. Use public transport. Walk. Don’t judge any eating place by its exterior or decor. If you are interested in art and museums be very careful buying online. There are a million scam sites that overcharge.

Good points! From Sorrento you can get a train to either Pompeii or Herculaneum. Buy your tickets at the official sites or at the gate if your travelling during low season.
Herculaneum is very doable in a half-day and generally quieter. My favourite. Pompeii is massive and busy but worth it.

@Gillinger @codedbydan And if you walk down to Herculaneum from the station, save your gelato craving for the start of the walk back up.
