So I'm always yapping on and on about how I would love to work on a Zelda 64-like (or join an existing Zelda 64 project). I discovered this indie game in development called "Corala: Diety's Doom" a few weeks ago and it looks like a promising 3D Zelda-like heavily inspired by Twilight Princess.

Would it be rude of me to ask the dev to offer my services as a composer? I don't want to be "that guy" and annoy them, but I also would reeeeeeeally like to participate in creating a game like that!

@lamb it will put you higher up on the list to volunteer before they start looking
@lamb shoot your shot

@lamb I think it depends on how you offer.

I've had people ask for my help sending a job application email to a small indie "studio" (really just two friends) who was not actively hiring and they disregarded all my suggestions and basically said "your game looks kinda cool, but you probably need my help to actually make it good! Please give me money to fix your game 😁"

So... Don't do that.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you reaching out to the project team basically saying something like "Hey, I'm trying to build a resume/portfolio and your project is very aligned with my own aspirations. If you're ever interested in potentially having me on as an internship position, I'd be happy to provide samples of my work. Alternatively, if you know of similar projects which are looking for (your desires position), I would appreciate if you shared them or passed my contact along."
