‘This shouldn’t be normal’: developers speak out about bigotry on Steam, the world’s biggest PC gaming storefront

At this point in time, it's better to assume that for Valve, allowing bigotry to run free on Steam is a feature, not a bug.
@alienmelon It'd be nice if enough people could band together and tell steamer they either do something, or they get nothing more.
@alienmelon
I tried Steam a decade ago and found it miserable and toxic and put me off PC gaming despite having grown up with PC gaming.
So I've just been downloading cracked copied of games only on Steam. If devs want my money, they can let me buy it somewhere I feel safe.
@alienmelon That's not "bigotry". That's far right politics.
@alienmelon that's terrible, you'd think it'd be easy for Valve to crack down on this considering how obviously coordinated and centralized these harassment campaigns are, everyone who leaves a negative review on a game they haven't played with the comment "RIP Charlie Kirk" should be banned
@alienmelon Thank you! I've beaten the drum on a few occasions here on Mastodon.
