@ltning quite possibly… there was a big merger, and they just fired whoever seemed to have duplicate roles. so now they have something like 11-14 legacy systems, & integrations devs gone. i'm sure AI will fix it right up

@benteh that sounds more like "laid off" than "fired", which is a good thing.

"Fired" typically means "I fucked up, so they kicked me out" while "laid off" is "they got rid of my job position, let me go with relative good will"

@benteh I once got (more or less) fired from a tech company, and then returned years later for a very successful stint there as a senior manager.

Getting fired doesn't mean you're useless 😁 Sometimes it just means you weren't what your employer thought they needed at the time. And sometimes they were wrong 😉
