@decryption @zachsimone IIRC it's realtime in the Vic gov's own app, right? So there's no _actual_ limitation, they've just hampered anyone else's ability to build on it.
@mattdarveniza @decryption Yeah that's right. I expect they'll quietly update API one day to match, and I keep checking, but no dice yet.
If my emails are anything to go off, they've done a good job of masking the truth, too. People see that Vic has data and (understandably) expect me to integrate with it. It feels stupid to respond and say that there's data but not the data we need - it was easier when I could say there's nothing!

@decryption @zachsimone I have to assume some lobbyist scared them into thinking publishing real time as an API would enable some kind "AI driven market manipulation" mumbo jumbo despite zero evidence of that being true. Who knows though

@decryption @mattdarveniza I find it really strange. They're not the first state to try this, I'm not sure why they're being so conservative. We have have years of experience seeing how running these schemes works for other states and I don't think it's all that bad... 😮💨
