Petition: Allow radio operators to install antennas & masts without planning permission

Reform planning laws to allow licensed amateur radio operators to install antennas and masts without planning permission, to support innovation, skills, and emergency communications.

@M0CUV
I'm not sure we should push for any weakening of planning controls. Be careful this isn't the start of a slippery slope. There are other things just waiting for relaxation, such as: folks living in "garden rooms", felling protected trees, development on flood prone areas, and even on green belt.
@G8GDS I agree Peter; It would certainly open the floodgates to much undesirable development- checks and balances are there for a reason. This came past me as secretary of my local society & was I asked to pass on to the rest of the membership, and mentioned it here also.
@M0CUV I received a letter from the planners, many years ago when I operated amateur radio in a city.
I very politely wrote back to them explaining that my radio mast was a temporary installation for experimental purposes.
That was enough to make them go away.
@a2es @M0CUV I found my dads folder of stuff he'd sent to the planners and discussions with the RSGB etc to get it done. Still, it's trickier to claim that a 40ft tower cemented into the ground is temporary (ahem which may have been extended upto 60ft sometimes).
