Leaked #Epstein recordings reveal former Israeli PM Ehud Barak discussing “quality control” of immigrants—dismissing Mizrahi Jews from Arab countries while advocating mass Russian immigration to “dramatically transform Israel.”

In a 2013-14 recording, Barak tells Epstein he repeatedly lobbied Putin: “What we need is just one more million [Russians] to change Israel in a dramatic, dramatic manner.”

He claims Israel’s founders “had to take whatever came just to save people” from North Africa and Arab countries, but “now we can be selective” and “control the quality much more effectively.”

Writing in Local Call (Mekomit), journalist Orly Noy dismantles Barak’s “rescue” narrative: Mizrahim didn’t need saving—Zionist operations deliberately destabilized their centuries-old communities across the Arab world, leaving them no choice but to flee to Israel. They were then treated as inferior immigrants, tools for demographic engineering rather than valued citizens.

“After the genocide in Gaza, Zionism has moved from its grotesque stage to its cannibalistic stage,” Noy writes. She warns that Mizrahi Israelis are being mobilized to fortify a “villa in the jungle”[*] that will forever confine them to “the corner reserved for the inferior, the barbarian, the uncultured.”

Both Barak and Netanyahu—despite their rivalry—share contempt for the Arab world and see Mizrahim as “jungle people”: either too primitive for power (Labor/Barak) or useful as the “violent face of fascism” (Likud/Netanyahu).

Noy argues that Mizrahi interests align with Palestinian liberation, not with fortifying a colonial structure built on contempt for Arab identity—including the Arab heritage of Mizrahim themselves.

When this is documented in history, may the record show: Mizrahi Jews are victims of Zionism as much as Palestinians are. Zionism didn’t rescue them—it forced their displacement, then made them collaborators in a genocidal project grounded in eugenics.
