Chat, here's a question. If you were to gain the ability to cast one level 1 spell with certain conditions, which of these conditions would you pick?
1. You have 99 uses over your entire life.
2. You can use your picked spell 1 time a year for the rest of your life.
@The_Passerby Is this really a choice? 🤔 Maybe my reading comprehension is failing but 99 uses seems strictly better by a significant margin.
Even if they're retroactive (you get the uses of previous years) and cumulative (every year you get another "charge", not just "use it, then a one year cooldown" which means you "waste" them if you don't keep using them), the second option seems clearly inferior.
Again, I could be missing something. 😅 I'm prepared to look stupid.
@Yuriel The idea is that 99 uses can get burned up really fast and there's no moderating influence. Though this one is an experiment, I tried writing longer choices but the poll has a character limit so I decided to compress it. The third option I also dropped.
So this one is more of a dud test case for using polls haha.
@The_Passerby Yeah, but still, even if you blow through them quickly, you still got 99 uses. That's value right there.
Now, if it were twice a year. That's more interesting. 4 times? aka Once a season? NOW, we got a choice. Between permanent but limited frequency access, or up-front at-will but non-renewable.
We'd still need to clarify if they work on "cooldown"; if they're "use it or lose it"; if you can "bank" them; if they're retroactive, etc.
