Wow, getting Chrome for Linux on #FreeBSD is a breeze now.

1. linux_enable="YES" in rc.conf
2. pkg install linux-chrome
3. Start Chrome

Bing Bang boom

@clf What’s the difference between this and the chromium port?

@andersgo this is the version of Chrome that was compiled for Linux. You can watch Netflix with this but not with chromium compiled for freebsd.

EDIT: Yes you can, see @grahamperrin 's reply

@andersgo www/chromium should also do Widevine, when two other packages are installed, however it's not working for me at the moment.

@trashheap does it work for you?

PS ignore the question, a second run of the chrome command succeeded.

@grahamperrin @andersgo @trashheap works for me! Tested with spotify
@grahamperrin 15.0-RELEASE, ports from git
@clf git quarterly or latest?
@grahamperrin latest, the main branch
@clf hmm, so I wonder what's wrong with mine from latest.
@grahamperrin You still having issues with widevine on native chromium? OR you trying to get it working with linux-chromium for some reason?

"… Maybe first runs of www/chromium are just a little fragile. …"

I made a messy screen recording that shows failure with a first run.
