The "legal arguments" put forward by the government in this case remind me of the ones that "sovereign citizens" put forward, especially the demand for a remedy that isn't actually available from the legal process

It's the same old m.o. that these people were using back when they were putting forward all of those specious claims about the 2024/2020 elections.

They don't know the law; they're picked for their toadiness rather than their legal prowess; when push comes to shove they have no evidence nor proof; they claim others are doing what really they themselves do; and they mostly want to win by press release rather than legal process.
