The issue has become a regular talking point on social media, with people - particularly women - swapping tips on how to spot cameras as small as a pencil eraser.
Some have even resorted to pitching tents inside hotel rooms to avoid being filmed

@fulelo yuck! I hope that doesn't become a thing elsewhere... I noticed the problem of people potentially watching children on these cameras hasn't even been mentioned.

@fulelo little tip for looking for hidden cameras.
Your phone camera will often see another camera far easier than your naked eye.

If you sweep a room looking through your phone you'll see another camera as a little white dot on your screen.

@fulelo Yeahbut are we supposed to feel sorry for the protagonist when by buying this stuff he is the author of his own misfortune?

If nobody bought it there wouldn't be a supply.

@TimWardCam @fulelo I don't like victim blaming, and I'm not suggesting couples should remain chaste on holiday, but that was also exactly what I was thinking. He is feeding the bad stuff, same way as a middle class lad who regularly uses cocaine, MDMA or other such substances ends up feeding petty crime in his own area (even if he doesn't commit it himself) as those with less money also want to get high. Saw this happen a lot myself when I was part of the rave scene for 20 years..

I tend to inspect strange places in untrusted areas the same way a cat does (I literally learned this from my cat many years ago😺 )
