I interviewed at PayPal 20-something years ago. They were an HP-UX shop, IIRC. Good times.
@pikesley Someone who understands user-facing applications, but not administrator-facing backends. A coder. A diddler. Someone who knows how to jack off, but nothing about evolution or genetics.
At his peak, Elmo was basically a ginned-up database coder. He doesn't understand deeper systems or networks administration, because he's never had to. He convinces himself he knows things he doesn't, and bullshits about them.
He never understood how Unix was superior to Windows NT.
