#Everglades Trip -- Day 2 Turned Cold & Windy
At about 1pm the wind shifted 180° to the NNW and a line of dark clouds approached. It really looked like rain, but they quickly moved over and the temp began to drop. #Wind was gusting above 25kts! I portaged my gear back to the northern end of the island, back in amongst the larger trees. This was mostly to avoid the bugs in the wind shadows.
In the second photo you can see my full rig with an underquilt and diamond shaped rainfly. Got down to the mid-40s for the next few nights. I was comfortable and took down the fly after it was clear there would be no rain. 🙂
