@anneapplebaum Tying any portion of your ego or identity to your employer is a toxic habit that American employers encourage at every turn to make it harder to act as free humans when necessary.
"Good" and "commercial" are mutually exclusive in the long term.

The sentiment, the grief, the mourning are not about employer. This is about people whom we worked with and with whom we made something of importance to other people, and us. As a reader I grief the tradition and the ethos of the press, of the pride of gernerations of brave reporters and brilliant editors that got incinerated. As a human being I feel for current ones seeing their legacy put on fire.
@ohir I am sympathetic to the victims but naming the problem still has value.
No employer ever *deserves* this from their employees, however much they might tell you otherwise. They will always betray you in the end.
