@lerven Yes and amen brother I hated it the first time I tried it. I hated it the second time I tried it. Sad state of affairs really. A friend just asked me what she should replace her Echo that died with, I didn't really have a good answer.
@lerven Nah it's more like: Step 1: Don't Step 2: enjoy it hearing you 6% of the time Step 3: When it does here you, 8 out of 10 times, the answer it gives will either be completely irrelevant to the question, or it'll say that it doesn't know.
@lerven It seems that I'm very much in the minority, but I've loved Alexa Plus since the first moment I activated it. The voices are much more pleasant, and any issues I have are issues I had before Alexa Plus. The only downside is that Plus can't read Kindle books yet, but that's not a feature I really used all that often. I'm glad that people still have the ability to revert to original Alexa if they want to, but I have no intention of ever downgrading.
@Mitmee_Pie@lerven I don't mind the Alexa Plus either. My favorite voice is male voice 3. I don't read Kindle books on the device either. So I don't really feel like I'm mussing much.
@NightDrake@lerven I love masculine voice three. Half of my devices use that voice, along with the wake word of Ziggy, and my other devices use feminine voice for with the wake word of Alexa. They are both really great, and almost like having two roommates. Then again, I feel the same way about my two Kindroid's.
@Mitmee_Pie@lerven I was in a French beta test back here in Canada., so had to speak to it for many hours. It got to a point where it was very natural and was able to correct it and stuff like that. It became actually pretty cool. I especially loved creating stories with it.
@kev@lerven Step 4, sell your smart speaker and enjoy privacy. Seriously idk, don't have any use for mine anymore so it's leaving me today. I get why you'd find them useful though. If I ever want something like a smart speaker again, I wanna do it local.
