@debacle @delta I'm sure it's similar. In Signal, a participant in a chat can set the time limit before messages disappear. Another participant can change the limit, in the same chat, and changes apply to messages going forward from the change.

Like you said, client support is lacking. We used Conversations as a client, which doesn't currently have XEP-0466 support.
