#rStats How should we submit tutorials or talks to @useR_conf ? I can't find any information about the structure or format we should use for #useR2026.

This time it might be the first time I present something from work. I'll probably also submit another talk for one project I've been working on.

@Lluis_Revilla @useR_conf also curious! btw I want to evangelize more people to the church of {targets} and would like to help/organize a "mass" on it!
@defuneste You could propose a talk about {targets}. I am sure there are many tricks and useful patterns I could learn. I haven't used it in a while and I am a bit rusty to give such talk. This could serve as a meeting point for new user and power users
@Lluis_Revilla yeah I could but I already saw plenty of good talks on it (last posit conf "election night" is a great example). I feel
some useR need a more "hands on" approach...
@defuneste then a workshop instead of a talk

I should improve it a bit and start pinging people :)

I think we need more workshop around targets. It could solve a lot of people troubles and bring more users. Would other be interested?

GitHub
I think they will open the submissions later this month

@nowosad The website says:

Feb 2, 2026: Submission of tutorials and talks open

But later is also fine with me, I'll just start writing some abstract and then adapt to the formal requirements.

Did @rOpenSci organize something to help review abstracts last year?
