Ugh. This morning all of my #TP-Link #tapo smart plugs (TP15) stopped working in #homeassistant . They still work in the Tapo app but won't communicate with standard TP-Link integration. Reloads and factory reset didn't help.
Guess I'll move them to Matter, which I had been planning to do anyway. I really need to upgrade all of my plugs to zigbee/z-wave/thread, but I'm too damn cheap. š

@GavinCampbell Agreed. I pulled the trigger on some Third Reality outlets shortly after posting. It was a good excuse to get out of TP-Link's ecosystem, even though the outlets have been pretty good over all.
Also, congrats on the new YouTube Channel! I'm subbed and plan to watch this weekend.
@rnDoug Third Reality is great, I use a lot of their devices.
Check out Zooz as well for affordable devices, though they are Z-Wave :)
@tj I did in fact grab some Third Reality outlets because you raved about them on the podcast. So much nicer to watch them pop up in Z2M instead of taking 3-4 times trying to get a Matter device to connect. It tool less than an hour to migrate all of my TP Link outlets to the Third Reality once. I use a lot of labels in my automations, so thankfully
I only had to touch up a couple of them.
I've never played with Z-wave...maybe I'll grab one of those paper towel rolls next and give it a try!
