They are betting the democrats won’t stop them with their own state workers, and are testing the waters now to see how it plays, with their base.
Democrats need to protect states’ rights. 10th Amendment, knowing they want to use the military to seize voting equipment, they should have cops, national guards, and miliias in place to prevent them from getting anywhere near voting centers in democratic districts in blue states.
This is their most basic, fundamental duty as a state official, having taken an oath to protect and defend the constitition of the US and of their State, both of which REQUIRE them to prevent the feds from overthrowing democracy in their state under their watch in all but name to permanently put the worst people in the world in charge.
It’s in their power, it’s their duty, and they have the population behind them. We just need some real leaders, and some outside of politics for the moment too, perhaps even anonymous leaders to prevent the feds persecuting them ahead of time, it really is going to be like that, but we can still stop them in 2028, we are stronger than they are, we just need to organize and fight under real leaders with a winning plan, that know how to build and run a political machine.

So, in regards to voting, what customs or immigration is involved in an election? Steve Bannon is leading an idiocracy. They shoulda trapped him in Biosphere 2 and thrown away the fucking key.
To “Stop illegals from voting”, probably. Coming up with an excuse is easy for them these days - it doesn’t have to make sense, it just have to be in line with established talking points.
That is just to start with one effect. They want to corrupt all aspects. Openly, and our opposition to them have been ignoring it despite the existential threat to the republic it is. Hard to know what to do now, something more extreme than it would’ve been in 2021 if the politicians did their goddamned duty instead of selling out to their donors.
