@jimniels This was beautifully written. It dovetails very well with the concept I've been calling The End of UX. When companies do not empower their people who advocate for users' needs & wellbeing with the ability to veto harmful or misguided ideas…the results are ultimately disastrous. We're seeing that far too much in far too many places.
Steve Jobs wasn't always a paragon of virtue, but he understood UX at its very core. For a time, that's what made Apple great.

i kinda said this, but i really do believe it: arguing for customer benefits is so much harder than arguing organizational benefits.
when you have a leader who hears an argument on behalf of customers and immediately gets it — “yeah, let’s do it” — that’s such a different place to be than a leader who hears an argument on behalf of customers and asks for proof — “show me the data”
@jimniels oh yeah, don't get me started on "data driven" a/b testing yada yada. That's a whole can of worms and I have Lots Of Thoughts 😅
