I still think that the scene with Vader ruined the ending of Rogue One

I still hate the german translation for the force in Star Wars, the german word "Macht" is much closer to the word "power" in meaning, "Kraft" would have been more accurate.

Yeah, it would have sounded funny, but I feel like there was an actual attempt in the original trilogy to make the force not about subjugation and having power (especially over others). Yes, that idea was thoroughly lost by the time of the prequels, but early Star Wars stories have the force be a lot more campy and not this all powerful magic that is tied to destiny, ruling and actual material power over others. It is just another fun thing in this universe.
A New Hope even makes fun of the idea of it being all powerful on the track to Aldeeran. It is just another way of percieving the universe.

And then later we end up with the Celestials and all that is lost... and the german translation becomes a lot more fitting.
And then it gets tied to biology aswell and even the last of the charm is lost.

Like, the original meaning of the force had already been lost by the time of the Prequels, when I mean early stories, I mean early early, the ones written before the third movie even came out. Like the Solo and Lando solo adventures for example

Might post more Star Wars rants in this thread in the future. There is a lot to rant about.

Not just the Disney stuff though, there is so much to rant about with the Expanded Universe/ Legends aswell. And the original movies. Han Solo (like most Harrison Ford characters) is a rapist for example

Our first real interaction with Star Wars (apart from paging through the original Marvel comic books when we were 5, yes the ones where everybody had red lightsabers, still mad we didnt get those in our parents divorce) was when we got a used SW encyclopedia, SW annals, a technical handbook to the original trilogy and a map of the Star Wars Universe, when we were around 8 years old. Which were all made before the prequels came out.
And I am going to make it everybody elses problem
My idea of what Star Wars "should be" is whack as all hell
I was reading blue prints of the X-Wing and Y-Wing, before I ever saw the first movie
@isopods whoaaa i love it
