@delta i discovered Delta relatively recently and it actually does one thing the one very basic thing that i have been waiting other message apps to have for ever. It does not require a phone number in order to use it.
There are many countries where in order to get a phone number you need to hand in your id card. There is no anonymity at all.
Delta is the only app that does it apart from Facebook messenger.

None of the other apps listed in this poll require phone numbers either, Delta is certainly not the only one.
@mattj Yeah that is true, but I think that matrix is closer to an irc/discord model of communication so more focused on chat rooms and collaboration and xmpp which is indeed an instant messenger has ben actively sabotaged by Google.
I have not use an xmpp enabled client for decades and I am not even sure which clients still support it any more.
