Ireland generated 1,575.6 GWh of renewable electricity in January 2026 (38.5% of demand), the 2nd‑highest January total on record.
It was also the cleanest January ever, with the lowest CO₂ emissions and grid‑carbon intensity — the sixth consecutive month of record lows.
This milestone comes from our first winter without coal and increased imports via Greenlink.
