#homeassistant experts, I need your help. Long post, sorry 🙏

The scenario: I have thermostatic valves (TRVs) installed on every radiator in my house and I control the boiler according to the status of the TRVs. Whenever a valve turns on, an automation enables the boiler.

The issue: the TRV temperature sensors are very inaccurate (+/-4°) due to their proximity to the radiator. I would like to correct the TRV behavior with an external sensor, but I don't know how to integrate it with the valves.

Any suggestions?

@saxeee I am using https://better-thermostat.org/ with some ZigBee external sensors. So far no complains from my side

Better Thermostat

@magix Appreciete.

I've started testing Better-Thermostat on my bedroom's TRV. First impressions: it works👍

I'm playing around with the parameters to see how they affect. I've currently set “Calibration Type” to “Offset Based” and “Calibrations mode” to “AI Time Based.”

This way, BT adjusts the TRV's “offset” parameter and even the Generic Thermostat previously set shows the correct temperature, and my automations keep working fine.

@magix

As soon as I'm sure about the results, I'll replace all the GTs with BTs.
