To say power corrupts is reductive.
Thing is, the people who go out of their way to get power no man should have and then fight to keep that power just pre-select for corrupt people.
There are no good billionaires, not because being a billionaire rots your soul or something, but because becoming a billionaire and maintaining that status requires a rotten soul delving deeper into rot.
