Proper journalistic practice, which ProPublica is following here, requires not getting ahead of the facts and evidence. By not using the word "murder" loosely, they're exercising proper journalism.
You know and I know it was murder, but we're not stating that as journalists reporting on a story. And ProPublica isn't saying that it WASN'T murder, either.
