LeonActually I don’t have anymore at all. I’ve unfollowed and ignored pretty much everyone in my life over the last few years. It does suck to not have any IRL friends, but it is nice to know that there are people here and elsewhere that are like-minded that I could have a normal conversation with.

Ugh, same. The few that didn’t just drift apart over time showed their true colors over the years, all the way back to marriage equlity. Then there was the first trump term, the George Floyd protests, Ukraine, Palestine, second term, and now all of this…
I knew I grew up in a red state surrounded by cornfields and expected some to have differing opinions on hard-cutoff issues, but I didn’t expect the people who were seeing the same things I was to straight up deny reality.
And since I’ve become more withdrawn in recent years, I’m basically only friends with whoever my wife is friends with and that’s about it. I don’t have what I would call “real” friends anymore.
There is an old saying. “ it’s better to be alone than to be around people who make you feel alone.” It is kind of a sad reality check to think about, but in all honesty like I said, I would rather be alone forever and to have a relationship or a friendship like this.
