So an #ArtemisII first attempt a week from tomorrow, it appears. The 10day expedition around the moon should be interesting if they can pull it off.

Fingers crossed - it'll be a nice distraction from other news (hopefully not too much of a distraction that it's exploited for more abuses)

Gotta say i would not be the slightest surprised if the current US regime threatens to pull our CSA astronaut as just general bully tactics. Presumably there are alternates in case of illness/injury.

Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't tried to yank all the women and PoC staff due to DEI bigotry.

Jenny Gibbons: Serves as the Canadian backup astronaut. She's also the lunar CAPCOM for this mission.

Andre Douglas: Serves as the American backup astronaut.

@shawnhooper if they decide to pull Jeremy as some sort of punitive thing against Canada, they'd surely not let Jenny take that spot either though. Hopefully we won't see their admin sink that low… but one never knows these days.

@ottaross To date there's been no evidence of messing with any of the international exchanges for NASA or even the military. As others of noted it'd likely involve scrubbing the mission completely so likely not on the table.
