He does know the Arc de Triomphe was built to honor those who fought & died for France during the French Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars right? Wait, of course he doesn’t. In fact all the Archs of Triumph are monuments. What’s this a monument for, oh yeah, himself. He truly does fancy himself a Roman emperor doesn’t he?

Ugh.

Unfortunately for Trump, monuments to fascism can absolutely be erased as soon as the fascists are out of power.

That's a fair point, though in this particular case apparently the entire site is a now memorial to the victims of the Nazis.

On a slight tangent, is there really time for anyone to build these things Trump orders before he either leaves office or enters clearly-a-dictator-third-term territory or dies?

The Arc de Triomphe apparently took 30 years to build (though it had a ten year break in the middle), and more recently the much smaller Lincoln Memorial took eight years to build.
