External SSDs (connected via USB) come in a variety of shapes and sizes. If they were standard physical dimensions, they could be housed in dedicated racks. If they had power buttons, they could be managed more easily, since Windows doesn't allow you to re-enable drives once they've been ejected via "This PC" or "Safely Remove Hardware" (a serious flaw).

External SSDs are currently quite expensive, but I don't think you'd be bothered if the box at least included USB-C to USB-A adapters and/or vice versa...
