For me to forgive someone, they have to own what they did. If they were duped into doing the bad, that's fine, they just need to say " yes, I participated in a bad thing" . Maybe prosecution is not always possible, but reconciliation requires truth

@alexpsmith The example I'm thinking of are old SS soldiers (Norwegians), who want the ostracism to end, and then when confronted with what they did, start their answer with "yes but".
