sometimes when i feel my code has too many confusing states, i like to stop, take a deep breath, and open the MSDN page for the MsoTrioState enum.

MsoTrioState is "a tri-state Boolean value". it has five possible values. only two of them are supported.

the only supported values are true and false.

@lynnesbian my favorite enum is PHP's Gender\Gender.
PHP: Gender\Gender - Manual

The Gender\Gender class

@hillu bist du auch Gender\Gender::EAST_FRISIA ? :D

@hillu @sodiboo Last time i checked, GENDER was maintained by a guy in Hannover, which isn't even that close to #EastFrisia / #Ostfriesland. Not sure what his relationship to the region is, maybe he just stumbled over a book of East Frisian names? Still weird to be the only non-country on the list.

While mapping given names to countries and genders seems academically interesting, not sure why you need a (fallible) library for that.

Alas, GENDER comes with my name, which is pretty uncommon :)

@clonejo omg lol wtf? Ja, schon. Endlich mal eine Programmiersprache, in deren stdlib ich mich aufgehoben fühle! #Ostfriesland

@hillu das ist nicht die stdlib

"This » PECL extension is not bundled with PHP. "

@clonejo oh, nagut, dann bleib ich wohl doch bei Perl und Rust.
