A sign of the times? A toy maker accidentally sewed the mouth of their plushie horse on upside down. Now the frowning "crying horses" giving you the side-eye are a big viral hit with exhausted, unhappy workers in China's Yiwu "Trade City."

It's an "he gets me" thing I guess?

@ottaross

It looks like a smiling face with pink cheeks has be placed upside down (the black dots below the cheeks could be eyes).

Maybe they have parts to reuse…

@ottaross
We are all ‘crying horse’.
@ottaross It's the year of the fire horse this year. I read once that people in China fear this year so much that if an unplanned pregnancy occurs and the child would be borne during this year, that it almost always results in an abortion.
@LillyHerself As a kid I thought superstitions and occult stuff was an interesting bit of history/fringe fun. As I've gotten older and see all this (*waves arms*) going on, it seems clearer that it contributes to letting people believe random things and justify terrible decisions.
@ottaross Me too, though I try to keep an open mind when it comes to concepts that originate in China, as that civilisation is so mindbogglingly old, that they may have figured out a thing or two - even if we're not sure what!
@ottaross I want one.
@LovingFalloutLondon1954 Need to hunt for plushies with easily-invertible smiles. 😆
@ottaross Yeah, I see it. I kind of want one.
@ottaross Chinese workers want worker rights.
