Minnesota's state bird is the loon and loons kick butt. Years ago a bald eagle was found dead floating near a dead loon chic. After biologists examined the eagle to determine how it died, they found that a loon had pierced it through its heart. Loons look out for their loved ones. That dead eagle was found in Maine, but that serves as a warning to any bald eagles trying to take loved ones in Maine. Maine and Minnesota loons stand together to defend their loved ones.

I was thinking… a bunch of people with loon call whistles could make quite an impact at a protest.

@donray It's somewhat easy to learn how to do the calls using your hands, too. No whistle needed.
