Happy 100th birthday television!

On January 26th, 1926, John Logie Baird gave the first public demo of a working television system in his laboratory above what is now Bar Italia on Frith Street, in London's Soho.

The mechanical disk (Nipkow system) had been demonstrated many times earlier
Some even used a CRT for receiver. A paper in 1905 highlighted the issue was how to make a CRT based camera.
Baird raised the profile of TV in UK. His only technical contribution was the film camera with inline developing and telecine to video. Later used in spy satellites with slow scan of film to avoid sending film back to earth.
1924 mechanical Colour TV was demoed.
