Dr. Amy, Psy.D.@yourautisticlife Oh I hate that post! Trees are not exploding. Enough real extreme things are happening, we don't need to make stuff up.
The specialist they interviewed said that it is "extremely rare" and that he's never seen a tree explode.
And as I was writing the above I wish that the Mythbusters were still a thing. They could put the myth to the test. I wonder how much a tree would have to be mangled to get to explode.

sonja@yourautisticlife a few years ago, there was so much snow and ice that trees were breaking like crazy. i know that trees exploding is not a thing, but its fun to think about
