I remember over a decade ago, on the official forum for a certain tabletop RPG, someone started a thread to say they were cancelling their subscription because they were not interested in an upcoming product. Two executives from that company, including one of the co-owners, replied to say that the OP should buy the product he was not interested in, so that he could help them stay in business so they could potentially make something he might be interested in in the future.
