Yesterday counted 5 years since moving to the bush. I miss a very few things about my past career and living in a mid-sized city, but not much. I'm healthier, happier, calmer, and richer in experience. I traded a lucrative career for a sustainable life. No regrets.

@trib That looks tranquil and calm. You chose well.😊
@trib beautiful view 😍
@trib I love this for you. It really looks like it has worked out as close to perfection as life can ever be.
@smperris I keenly await your chance to take a break and visit us.
@trib It is still firmly on my list.
@trib sitting here before I head back to normal life and I contemplate if and when I could make such a move.

@corduroy there are a LOT of factors that weighed into our decision that I have mentioned from time to time, including:
- I was in a pretty bad place mentally about the work I was doing and need to do something significant to remedy that
- we had managed to pay off our mortgage
- our kid had moved out of home
- we'd wanted to own a B&B for a long time
- Alli's work was supportive of her working remotely

The dollars were the big thing. That we were in a strong financial position made other decision points measurably easier. I don't think it's a go/no-go factor, but it's significant.

All that said, if and when you are ready I'm here to bounce ideas off. I definitely support anyone making that kind of significant life shift.
