Doug MadoryAt 18:43 UTC on Jan-18, TIC (AS49666) re-established its transit connection with Russian state telecom Rostelecom (AS12389).
AS49666 disconnected from several transit providers and peers on Jan-8 during the initial hours of the internet shutdown.
Rostelecom first became a transit provider for TIC way back in January 2010. It was AS12880 back in those days and my colleague (Renesys founder) @jimcowie wrote up the development here (thank you Internet Archive!):
Despite this development, internet service is still down across Iran with extremely rare exceptions.
The shutdown is now in its 12th day, having begun on Jan-8.
