Here is a letter that Donald Trump sent to Norway's Prime Minister. Just in case anyone has a shred of doubt that Trump has lost his connection to reality. I don't think I will ever understand why the good people of the US elected such a poorly educated, petulant man-baby to such a position of power.

@IndyRichard Surely there must be some sort of system in place in America to remove such a person from office, far away from the nuclear red button, and into a mental institution where they can receive the much needed care?

@druid It feels like those who maybe could start such a process are terrified of Trump and his supporters. I would love to know what has become of the 2 arms of government in the US, supposed to counterbalance presidential power. Where have they gone?

@IndyRichard @druid This is part of the damage done by Reagan's time in office, giving more and more power to the president so it hasn't been very balanced for a while.

@aegir @IndyRichard @druid There’s definitely an argument that the balance of power has been shifting for decades, not just under one president. Decisions made since the Reagan era expanded executive authority, and that long-term trend has consequences regardless of who holds the office. It’s a systemic issue more than a single-person one.
