Discussions may ramp up about respirators and liability in healthcare. This is a periodic reminder that the U.S. respirator manufacturers played games with pandemic preparedness in 2004 for liability protection similar to vaccine manufacturers.
CDC knew in 2004 that surgical masks were a last resort and did not provide ample protection. And they also did some contortions with logic over contact with airborne viruses outside of healthcare settings.
