The fact that my bluetooth devices do not automatically reconnect on my #PopOS #linux desktop running #Gnome drives me nuts, because manually reconnecting them requires five clicks (!) all the way into the system settings every single time. There gotta be a better way, right? Tips appreciated.

@nw You're still using GNOME 42? With newer GNOME versions, bluetooth connections were simplified and you can connect straight from the quick settings now.

Pop!_OS has switched to COSMIC with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

Anyway, try https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1401/bluetooth-quick-connect/

Bluetooth Quick Connect - GNOME Shell Extensions

@desikn Thanks, I realize I'm due for an upgrade -- haven't received an upgrade notification yet so I'm still on PopoOS 22. That extension looks great but isn't compatible with my Gnome version. Someone else flagged one that's not as neat but works. Thanks!

@nw Extensions broke with GNOME 45 when they moved to ESM, you need to select the right GNOME version.

You should receive an update notification from Pop!_OS this month to upgrade to 24.04 LTS and switch to COSMIC. If you wish to upgrade now, run pop-upgrade release upgrade -f.

@desikn Thanks so much -- I'll try that.
@desikn Picking an older version worked! Thanks again!
