From her first hand experience, my Mum had already told me about the Japanese atrocities, and the suffering in the cultural revolution, inflicted upon Chinese people.
I am finding it very painful and distressing to read about it.

I don't really want to and would rather not. I hate doing book reviews as they are all wonderful, except those that are awful.
I read them because I enjoy reading them, and others can look them up or ask more specifically about a book, if they want to.
