An impressive demonstration of focus, balance, and physics at work.

Italy's Got Talent Show
@globalmuseum "She's been practicing!"
@globalmuseum This reminds me of the fragile balance of our world.
@globalmuseum she better have won after that — that was stunning!
@globalmuseum
OMG, she's so nervous!
@wortezimmer @globalmuseum I reckon she was just cold. Girl needs a jumper.

@globalmuseum I think this was a cirque do soleil performance at one point too.

What's always been fascinating about it for me are the tools/props. Lots of craftsmanship went into the concept and creation of the act, even before the performance. Beautiful end to end.

@globalmuseum She is an Elf… no wonder look at her ears.
@globalmuseum
It’s even more impressive because the way she was shaking

An excellent example of Physical Theatre. :D

@globalmuseum I had to verify it was real! It's Marula Eugster Rigolo on Italia's Got Talent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwrJU9TTEKM
Marula, la dea dell’equilibrio ipnotizza i giudici

@globalmuseum I'd have lost it on about the 3rd branch! Stupendous balance!

@globalmuseum #ALT4me if someone feels like adding descriptive alt text that would be super appreciated, it won't load and the alt text is the caption.

@coolandnormal A woman starts by balancing a feather on the end of a carved stick. With great focus and concentration, she adds more sticks, one at a time, until she's built a towering contraption of sticks balancing each other and the feather. Using her foot, she raises one last stick, and balances the whole thing on top of that. At the end, she removes the feather and it all falls apart.

@globalmuseum

@wil @globalmuseum thank you! That sounds incredible.

@coolandnormal It's pretty amazing. She's miked and you can also hear how much effort it's taking.

They look like bones - whale ribs or something similar. The smallest is maybe a foot long, the longest about six feet.

I saw this performed at a show called "Vegas Nocturne" many years ago, in a restaurant called "Rose, Rabbit, Lie". Picture a restaurant with a small stage area set up in the middle of the seating, and a hundred patrons all holding their breaths, awestruck.

@PhilSalkie @wil @coolandnormal @globalmuseum I believe they are palm tree branches.
@Galley @wil @coolandnormal @globalmuseum
That makes complete sense - I'm sure "bones" was mentioned in the show I saw, and the press writeups of it, but they're not curved enough to be ribs - it's obvious once you say it. Thanks!
@globalmuseum cant tell whether this thing or the u.s. is more brittle
@globalmuseum Every second of that was utterly mesmerising.
@globalmuseum
Shame about the appalling camera work - I had to give up watching part way through.
@globalmuseum
I'm really impressed.
Too bad I wont share it because the alt text is not describing the content.

@globalmuseum imagine politicians and presidents acting in a comparable and thoughtful way to save our world and peace....
