We have just launched the invitations editor feature 🖌️ ! The customization options include background image, QR code (colors, size, position) and guest names (font size, color, alignment, weight, family).

When the design is ready, you can generate a PDF document with all the invitations, each one including the names of the guests assigned, and a QR code to the RSVP form for those guests.

@libreweddingplanner Congrats on the feature! Seeing as you don’t yet have a public roadmap (which I highly recommend!), do you know if it’s planned to be able to have multiple users (i.e. people planning their weddings) on one instance? For example, I might host the server, but my non-techy friends could request accounts so they can use the platform without needing to self-host.

Great work on improving this so quickly and consistently!

@moshimotsu thanks for the piece of advice! I think a roadmap could be very useful, let me think about a way to clearly communicate about upcoming features without over-committing to something I cannot deliver. At the end of the day, I'm doing this as a side project, and mostly driven by the necessities of organizing my own wedding 😅
@libreweddingplanner That’s super fair! One thing that could be helpful then is if you tried getting some publicity on FOSS-related outlets and forums, maybe expressing explicitly that this isn’t intended to be something super long-term. That way you might get some potential successor maintainers lining up for after you get married!

@moshimotsu I plan to be involved in the project long-term, and continue developing and improving the project after my wedding. It's just that the prioritization of tasks is heavily influenced by my immediate needs.

I'm not actively promoting the project in other FOSS forums, basically because I don't know any. IIRC, you suggested Reddit some weeks ago, but I refuse to use a nonfree platform to promote the project myself. Happy to do so in a free platform, if you know any.

Thanks!

@libreweddingplanner I did make a Reddit post way back when, but maybe it didn’t get a lot of traction. I know people also use Hacker News, but I have no idea how it works, so I’m not sure how to promote it there myself. There’s also the final option of reaching out to outlets that talk about FOSS stuff like It’s FOSS or Linuxiac to see if they’ll run a short story about the project.

Beyond that, you could also make a post on a popular Lemmy community that might fit!
