My ferrite rings and wire have arrived at home today. Just need to source something for the antenna element. Thinking welding wire or thin aluminium rod.

My first attempt at winding on a pair of ferrite rings.

I've messed up and used 2x cores with one winding. I was planning on making a current balun, not voltage!

Now got to unwind what I've done so far and then figure out how TO do a current balun.

I've had a look online and not having much luck gettint my head around it.

I have two cores, but I don't know the windings I need for a 6:1 impedence transformation.

Can anyone help?

I've had to stop for the time being. I've been using a schematic by VK6YSF but my stupid brain is having a hard time with how to route the wires at either end of the winding 😅

I also have a feline determined to love me so I guess that's enough for now anyway!

Balun 6:1 v2

I have also come across the below which suggests a 4:1 voltage balun with a 1:1 "downstream" of the 4:1 transformer.
@G8RKE 6:1 not made one before. What's the application?
@mw0ian Folded dipole for 4m
@G8RKE I made a coaxial 4:1 balun for a 4m delta loop once
